ICC Champions Trophy final 2025: New Zealand have open mind' against India
Briefly

In the lead-up to the Champions Trophy final in Dubai against India, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner highlighted the importance of adaptability and mid-match communication. He noted that understanding pitch conditions and adjusting strategies could be crucial to their success. Despite India winning all their matches in Dubai, Santner expressed confidence in his team's ability to learn from previous encounters against India, particularly their last group match. Santner acknowledged the potential for varying pitch conditions and emphasized the necessity of being prepared for a tough battle against a well-rounded Indian team.
"We have to kind of go in with an open mind of how the pitch will play, and then adjust accordingly," Santner told reporters on Saturday.
"It could be a 300 wicket, we don't know yet, but it could also be a 250 kind of winning score."
"We'll learn from that," said Santner. "We know India are probably going to go in with the same team. So, I think we have to be ready and be adaptable for what's coming."
"There will be periods throughout this game on both sides where you're under pressure for a period of time. But if you can withstand that and get through, it might get easier."
