Jose Siri has fractured tibia in major Mets injury blow
Briefly

Jose Siri of the Mets has been diagnosed with a fractured left tibia following an injury sustained during a game, leaving the team with fewer center field options. Despite initially negative X-rays, further tests confirmed the fracture after he left the game in pain. The Mets' manager, Carlos Mendoza, indicated that while Tyrone Taylor would take on more responsibilities in center field, players like Luisangel Acuña and Jesse Winker are being prepared to step up as well. Siri's offensive struggles this season complicate his absence, but the team feels confident in their depth.
"I didn't think it was that serious to be a fracture," Siri said through an interpreter after the Mets' 5-1 victory over the Twins at Target Field.
"It's just my job to be prepared for any situation," Acuña said through an interpreter, referring to manager Carlos Mendoza.
"We feel good with what we have here," Mendoza said. "We're preparing [Jesse] Winker to get more and obviously [Starling] Marte."
