Mets prospect Jonah Tong leads way in perfect game - but gets pulled with one out to go
Briefly

Jonah Tong, the Mets' sixth-ranked prospect, was pulled one out from achieving a perfect game in a Double-A match, finishing with an impressive 13 strikeouts and allowing no hits. Despite throwing 99 pitches in 6 2/3 innings, his relief pitcher, TJ Shook, closed the game, leading to a subdued celebration rather than an epic recognition of Tong's performance. Tong's career is promising, having achieved a career-best strikeout count and significantly lowering his season ERA to 2.57, showcasing his potential as a future star for the Mets.
Tong probably would have traded one or two of his 13 strikeouts to shave a few pitches off his count and have a chance to finish a seven-inning masterpiece.
The Rumble Ponies had a very subdued on-field celebration - like a run-of-the-mill win.
As you'd expect, when Rumble Ponies manager Reid Brignac made the call to the bullpen from the mound, the home crowd booed and Tong rolled his head back in what appeared like disbelief.
After Shook struck out the final batter for the Reading Phillies in a 6-0 victory, the Rumble Ponies had a very subdued on-field celebration.
