Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado ended his campaign for governor, concluding there was no viable path forward in the Democratic primary. Delgado had tapped India Walton as his running mate one week earlier. Gov. Kathy Hochul moved to solidify her ticket by selecting former NYC Council Speaker Adrienne Adams as her running mate. The state Democratic Party nominated Hochul for another term at its Syracuse convention. Delgado would have needed to secure enough statewide petitions to appear on the primary ballot. Hochul said she offered the lieutenant governor spot to one person who accepted. Recent Siena College polling showed Delgado facing steep odds.
