The open, affluent Manhattan seat has generated speculation about high-profile successors. Chelsea Clinton was reportedly mentioned and a source said she was "actively considering a campaign after debating a run for an open City Council seat last cycle," but a spokesman said, "There's no truth to this." Lina Khan, former FTC chair and Columbia Law faculty member, praised Nadler's anti-monopoly work but said she is not interested in running for Congress. Jack Schlossberg has not ruled out a bid.
