Three Yankees' takeaways from their sweep over the Cardinals
Briefly

The Yankees achieved their first three-game sweep since July, defeating the Cardinals and taking advantage of their mistakes. This marks the Yankees' second straight series victory, which had not occurred since late May. Despite their struggles earlier in the season, they have recently won six of eight games against weaker opponents. Giancarlo Stanton's return to the outfield remains uncertain as he continues to deal with lower body recovery issues; his performance is limited while Aaron Judge is unavailable due to injury.
The Yankees took care of business against a going-nowhere team. That's progress. But is it, at long last, a signal that the Yankees are in the early stages of a long-promised stretch of quality baseball? That cannot yet be said.
After reaching a season-high 17 games over .500 (42-25) on June 12, the Yankees are 25-32 since but have won five of their last six and six of their last eight.
It doesn't sound like Giancarlo Stanton will be back in the outfield anytime soon. Stanton had not played the outfield in two years but ended up playing in right four of five games.
Boone left open the possibility of Stanton playing one of the two games in Tampa in the outfield but it seems as if that is currently on hold.
