CC Sabathia's No. 52 will be retired by the New York Yankees on September 26 before a game against the Baltimore Orioles, with a plaque dedicated in Monument Park. Sabathia becomes the 24th Yankee to receive this honor and the first since Paul O'Neill in 2022. The Hall of Famer was a six-time All-Star who won the 2007 AL Cy Young Award with Cleveland and a World Series championship in 2009 with the Yankees. Over 19 seasons, Sabathia compiled 251 wins, 161 losses, a 3.74 ERA, and 3,093 strikeouts, ranking third among left-handed pitchers. He will join former teammates Derek Jeter and Andy Pettitte with plaques in Monument Park.
