"The CQI Coffee Corps program represents the very best of the coffee sector. Coffee Corps volunteers embody a spirit of generosity and collaboration that has expanded opportunities for producers and made our industry stronger."
"As we recommit to our mission to foster development in coffee communities, I can't imagine doing it without the support of a new generation of CQI Coffee Corps volunteer leaders."
The Coffee Quality Institute has reactivated its Coffee Corps volunteer program, which had been dormant due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Established in 2002, the program deploys experienced coffee professionals to assist in areas like sensory evaluation and trade development. The announcement was made at the Specialty Coffee Association's World of Coffee trade show. This reactivation comes amid reduced funding for coffee sector development projects. CQI CEO Michael Sheridan emphasized the importance of volunteers in supporting coffee producers and fostering development in coffee communities.
