Since the beginning of President Trump's second term, thousands of research grants have been cut by the federal government for reasons that remain unclear. While certain studies on controversial topics like health disparities among transgender individuals or misinformation have received attention as politically motivated targets, significant research areas such as cancer and maternal mortality have also faced cuts. The scientific community is struggling to comprehend the extent of these cancellations due to a lack of comprehensive data from the government, highlighting issues of transparency and advocacy in the face of arbitrary decision-making.

When the NIH first started canceling grants...the government wasn't providing any specific information about terminated grants.
