FX's Alien: Earth series, created by Noah Hawley, is set prior to the original Alien film. It features a team of researchers from Earth investigating a mysterious crashed spaceship. The protagonist, Wendy, is a synthetic entity tasked with exploring the ship, alongside her mentor Kirsh. The trailer hints at the ship's past involving dangerous creatures, and while the specifics of the aliens remain vague, the production design suggests a thrilling exploration of horror and suspense. The series is set to premiere on August 12th.
As a person whose mind has been transferred into a durable, synthetic body, Wendy (Sydney Chandler) is an ideal candidate to investigate the downed ship.
The trailer's actually pretty light on shots of the aliens, but it gives you a pretty good sense of how solid the show's production design is going to be.
CEO Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin) knows that he wants whatever is on it.
While all of the bloody, broken containment units tell a pretty clear story about what went wrong, it takes Alien: Earth's characters a few beats to realize how much of a deathtrap they've wandered into.
