Frontier Wins Big in Second Round of Connecticut Broadband Grant Funding

Frontier Communications was awarded nearly $8.7 million in the second round of Connecticut's ConneCTed Communities Grant Program, aimed at enhancing broadband access. This funding will extend connectivity to around 3,802 residences and businesses across 44 towns, with a particular emphasis on multi-dwelling units (MDUs). The Connecticut broadband initiative has so far allocated a total of $34 million, aiding 5,582 locations in 116 municipalities. DEEP Commissioner Katie Dykes emphasized the importance of this initiative in promoting digital skills and improving overall quality of life for residents.
Research shows that 92% of jobs require digital skills and 60% of adults get health information online. This effort is critical. It's about increasing access to vital elements of daily life, and helping to improve health, safety, affordability, and prosperity for the people of Connecticut.
This latest round of grant awards is supporting the vital work of bringing broadband infrastructure to locations with the greatest needs.
