Andrea Scott, director of The Elders, initiated a community project with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council in 2018, focusing on engaging older audiences at the Mill Theatre in Dundrum. In 2018, I applied to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council for a commission to do a community project that ultimately led to the formation of The Elders.
The Mill Theatre was instrumental in launching the project; the suggestion to reach out to older audiences highlighted their strong connection to community performance.
