Little Haiti Cultural Complex's new leader must tackle old challenges
Briefly

Dasha Saintremy has recently taken charge as the manager of the Little Haiti Cultural Complex, focusing on revitalizing the center amid various structural challenges. In a community meeting, she gathered input for Haitian Heritage Month, highlighting upcoming cultural events. Though she was quietly appointed three months prior, she inherited ongoing issues like mold, a leaky roof, and outdated facilities, noting that improvements have yet to be addressed since her appointment in February. Saintremy's leadership comes in a pivotal time for the center, aiming for greater community engagement and revitalization.
"It's like buying a house," she told the Miami Herald, "Before you sign on to enter it into that home the previous owner... they're supposed to do their due diligence to give it to you in the best condition possible. And that's not the case."
The Little Haiti Cultural Complex... features an art gallery, theater, studios and classrooms, plus vendors and an outdoor space where they hold monthly parties.
