New Learning Experience Platform opens doors to innovation in teaching - Harvard Gazette

Harvard launched the Learning Experience Platform (LXP) in January, aiming to support innovative teaching and elevate digital learning. The initiative saw over 120 attendees including faculty and administrators come together to celebrate this collaboration among various university departments. Vice Provost Bharat Anand emphasized the importance of retaining control over educational methodologies through this modular and flexible platform, developed over a decade of online learning advancements. LXP also addresses rapidly changing educational needs amplified by the pandemic, offering a modern, versatile system to improve online and hybrid learning experiences across diverse teaching styles.

This is about ensuring we retain control over our pedagogical future. We've built a platform that reflects Harvard's values - one that's modular, flexible, and rooted in over a decade of innovation in online learning.

The pandemic accelerated this shift, highlighting both the opportunities and limitations of existing platforms. The 2022 Harvard Future of Teaching and Learning Report identified, among other things, the need for a modern digital learning platform.
