Heather Graham, 55, confesses she's 'glad' she never had children: 'I feel free'
Briefly

In a recent interview with The Guardian, actress Heather Graham discussed her choice to remain child-free, expressing that most of the time she is glad of her decision, feeling liberated instead of burdened. She noted the cultural pressure on women to become mothers, encouraging them to choose what they genuinely want. Graham shared her journey of breaking free from being a 'people pleaser', which included cutting ties with her family to establish her own identity. Her experiences are captured in her new film, 'Chosen Family'.
I think I've had moments where I wondered: what would it have been like if I had a kid? I guess I would say 80% of the time I feel glad I don't have kids, and I feel free and really good about it, and maybe 20% of the time I wonder what would it be like.
I do think it's awesome now that more women are expressing their desire to not have kids. The culture says: 'You need to have kids.' But why?
I realized, no, actually I can just ask myself, 'What do I want?' and make myself happy.
I think I felt, as a younger person, that I couldn't really set boundaries with them that they would respect, so I wanted to explore that in the movie.
