A woman named Salomé faced a â¬150 fine after a ticket inspector deemed her recently purchased plant 'too large' under Paris Metro regulations. She was stopped just after passing through a turnstile at République station, where the inspector checked her ID and Navigo pass. Although she had not yet boarded the Metro, her plant, measuring 1.3m long and 25cm wide, exceeded size limits set by the RATP. Salomé expressed her frustration and considered filing a complaint, questioning its effectiveness due to the strict rules.
'I was leaving a large plant sale with a friend. Just after I passed the turnstile, a ticket inspector asked to see my Navigo pass and my ID.'
'Unfortunately for Salomé, she technically did break the RATP rules. Her plant slightly exceeded the limit for the Metro, RER and Montmartre funicular.'
