Rodney Ward, 56, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for defrauding pet owners through his unlicensed crematorium, Loving Care Pet Funeral and Cremation Services. He collected approximately $13,000 from at least 50 victims, returning rocks and sand instead of ashes. Ward was ordered to pay $12,510 in restitution. Investigators discovered numerous decomposing animals, including eight in a wooded area and 38 in a hearse at his home. The case has left many pet owners uncertain about the fate of their beloved animals.
