Toco, a Japanese collie cosplayer, is at risk of closing his Tokotoko Zoo due to insufficient customer reservations. Despite an initial surge in interest when he opened the zoo, which allows individuals to wear animal costumes, recent bookings have dwindled. Toco, known for his hyperrealistic collie suit, expressed concern on X, urging potential visitors to book appointments before the planned closure in June. The experience, costing over $300 for 180 minutes, has not received enough traction to sustain operations, prompting a plea for reservations as the deadline approaches.
If we do not receive any reservations by Saturday, April 19, we will close the store," the collie cosplayer, who lives in Japan, lamented in an X post.
Toco explained on X that the human zoo will close in June, so interested parties should make bookings in April and May.
Billed as 'a place where your wish to become an animal comes true,' the Tocotoco Zoo opened in Saitama Prefecture.
He quickly took the world by storm, amassing over 60,000 followers on YouTube, where he frequently posts footage of himself going for walks.
