XL bully found eating' pensioner in fatal attack
"John McColl, 84, died from his injuries in March 2025, a month after being savaged by a dog called Toretto in the Cheshire town of Warrington."
"Garner claimed that Toretto was locked inside a shed on the patio outside his home, and that the gate to the property was secured by a latch and chain."
"David Birrell, prosecuting, said: 'Your dog wasn't guarding the premises, it was eating Mr McColl.'"
"Garner disagreed that the dog was hungry, despite an examination finding that there was no dog food in its stomach."
John McColl, 84, died after being attacked by an XL bully named Toretto in Warrington. Toretto's owner, Sean Garner, is on trial for owning a dangerous dog. Garner claims he secured Toretto in a shed and that Mr. McColl entered his property unexpectedly. Despite the dog being found eating Mr. McColl, Garner insists it was not hungry. The XL bully breed is banned in the UK without an exemption certificate, which Garner admits he lacked for Toretto and another dog.
