Anthony Hutchison, a former NFL running back, is on trial in Houston for bribery and fraud linked to falsified tax returns and contract manipulation. Testimonies revealed his gambling habits, notably how he lost consistently in poker, with professional player Ayaz Mahmood noting Hutchison's reckless betting behavior. This is not Hutchison's first legal issue, as he has a previous conviction for bribery and other charges. His current defense claims he is not guilty, amidst scrutiny of his past and current business dealings.
"He would chase it," Mahmood said of Hutchison's play. "We call it poker tilt, which means if you're losing, you chase it and try to make your money back."
Mahmood said the group played a couple of times a week, and the defendant once lost $300,000 in a session. He later described Hutchinson's poker skills as "Not too good."
