"Poker and live tables will not be there on opening. With staffing and some of the other things that go on to get it open and get it going, we're not going to have live games at this stage. We definitely got licensed for it. We'll see. If the market wants it and demands it, we can always add it."
"The Poker Palace opened in 1974. Truckee acquired the property for $20 million. Renovation plans include adding new slots and gaming systems, a redesigned bar, a larger restaurant and kitchen, updated restrooms, new exterior and interiors, and a new sportsbook."
Truckee Gaming acquired the Poker Palace casino in North Las Vegas for $20 million in October and is renovating it to reopen as Club Fortune Casino North in mid-April. The property will feature only slot machines upon opening, reversing initial expectations that the poker room would return. CEO Ferenc Szony cited staffing challenges and operational considerations for the decision but indicated poker could be added later if customer demand warrants it. The company obtained the necessary licensing for poker operations. Renovations include new gaming systems, a redesigned bar, expanded restaurant facilities, updated restrooms, new sportsbook, and refreshed interior and exterior. Staff will be reduced from approximately 125 to 100 employees, with preference given to previous workers.
