Kaiser Permanente has dismissed Craig Chew, its national director of corporate security investigations, following allegations related to the illegal access of confidential data from a California criminal database. Chew, along with several subordinates, allegedly received information about potential threats to a Kaiser employee via illegally accessed law enforcement data. Chew, a former police officer, has strongly denied the accusations, claiming his termination is based on falsehoods and asserting that the investigation was not conducted fairly by the organization.
I can state that I never illegally obtained, requested nor directed any of my staff to obtain search results from the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System while working at Kaiser.
If Kaiser is true to its policy of conducting fair and thorough investigations in matters of workplace complaints, Kaiser knows this statement is false. Their reason for terminating me, and many others, is a complete fabrication.
