Research reveals a staggering disparity between perceived and actual data resilience in organizations, where 30% of CIOs believe they excel, but less than 10% do. Veeam's introduction of the Data Resilience Maturity Model aims to help companies assess and enhance their resilience. With IT outages costing companies over $400 billion annually, the model categorizes organizations across four levels, from Basic to Best-in-Class. Most organizations are in the lower tiers, while those in the highest category recover significantly faster and experience much less downtime and data loss.
Data resilience isn't just about protecting data, it's about protecting the entire business," said Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam. "This is the difference between shutting down operations during an outage or keeping the business running. It's the difference between paying a ransom or not.
At least 74 percent of organizations operate at the two lowest maturity levels. Companies that reach the highest level recover seven times faster from disruptions.
