NordVPN call protection is now available on Android to flag potential scams
"NordVPN is launching a call protection feature to Android users in the US, the UK, the EU, Japan, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Australia, and Canada. This warns you about potential scams before you pick up the phone. It analyzes "various intel", according to the official press release, to "define phone number reputation"."
"The feature is part of the NordVPN app, so if you already have that, there's no additional download required. Call protection works regardless of whether you're currently connected via VPN. You need to have a premium NordVPN subscription for call protection."
"To set up call protection, go to the Threat Protection screen inside the NordVPN app for Android, and toggle it on. Once you do that, the app will offer to redirect you to your phone's settings, where you can finish the setup by toggling all of the required settings on in your Android settings."
NordVPN has introduced a call protection feature for Android users in the US, UK, EU, Japan, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Australia, and Canada. The feature analyzes various intelligence sources to determine phone number reputation and alerts users to potential scam calls through warning messages displayed next to incoming caller numbers. Call protection is integrated into the NordVPN app and functions independently of VPN connection status. Premium NordVPN subscribers can enable the feature through the Threat Protection screen in the app, then complete setup via Android phone settings. No additional download is required for existing NordVPN users.
