Two mothers faced significant challenges while breastfeeding and credit their success to a peer support group. Manpreet Pinder, who became a volunteer breastfeeding peer supporter, struggled initially with pain while trying to breastfeed her son. Two mums who struggled to breastfeed their babies have said they would have struggled without the help of a peer support group.
Manpreet Pinder, who had her son in 2020, said it was really tough to breastfeed at first, describing extreme pain when attempting to latch.
Ms Pinder emphasized the challenges of breastfeeding at night, noting that the fussiness of a baby wanting to latch can lead to a tough experience.
Sukhneet Pinder expressed new understanding of breastfeeding skill, stating she had focused on birth rather than considering breastfeeding during her pregnancy.
