"WMLS shared a similar sentiment, noting that the data share is part of its continued effort to simplify and expand data access throughout the region, providing improved efficiency for agents throughout the area. This data share represents a major advancement in our ongoing mission to provide subscribers with broader access to essential listing information, Charlie Willits, the CEO of WMLS, said in a statement. Through this collaboration, our MLSs are opening new doors for agents and brokers enhancing service and delivering more value to consumers."
Subscribers of either MLS can search and share listings with subscribers of both MLSs. Williamsburg MLS covers Williamsburg, Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, James City County, York County, Yorktown, Gloucester County, Surry County, New Kent County, Charles City County, and the Town of West Point. Bright described the data share, along with one with Central Virginia Regional MLS announced in May, as part of a commitment to help subscribers grow business, expand networks, and maximize listing exposure. WMLS emphasized that the share simplifies and expands regional data access and improves agent efficiency. Agents who belong to both MLSs will only need to enter listings into their primary MLS. Bright maintains multiple data share agreements, including one with California Regional MLS launched last October.
