Homie appeals dismissal of antitrust suit against NAR
Briefly

In mid-July, the lawsuit originally filed by Homie against NAR, Anywhere Real Estate, HomeServices of America, and RE/MAX was dismissed with prejudice, preventing any future claims on the same basis. The lawsuit accused these defendants of anticompetitive practices that harmed Homie as an excluded competitor, alleging its business model contributed to reduced seller compensation levels for buyer agents. Homie challenged several specific NAR rules, but Judge Kimball dismissed claims as time-barred and lacking plausibility for antitrust injury. WFRMLS and Keller Williams were previously dismissed voluntarily.
In mid-July, NAR, Anywhere Real Estate, HomeServices of America and RE/MAX were dismissed from the suit with prejudice, meaning that Homie cannot file a suit with the same claims against these defendants.
Homie alleges that local brokers and agents boycotted its listings due to lower buyer agent compensations compared to traditional brokers, contributing to its financial distress.
