Palo Alto tries to rein in Zuckerberg's Crescent Park expansion - San Jose Spotlight
""They value being members of the community and have taken a number of steps above and beyond any local requirements to avoid disruption in the neighborhood,""
""I can't read these plans for additional dwelling as credible single-family dwellings,""
""This is something you might find in Atherton: a large estate, a series of guest houses, recreational facilities, movie theaters surrounding the house.""
Mark Zuckerberg, Priscilla Chan, and their children have lived in Palo Alto for more than a decade. Neighbors have repeatedly complained about constant construction and the conversion of a home into a private school. City permit records show at least ten building permit applications for 1451 Hamilton Ave. between June 2017 and September 2019, including a new roof and swimming pool replacement. Some neighbors accused the city of overlooking illegal use of the property. In 2016 the city's Architectural Review Board questioned plans to demolish four homes and build three, saying the proposed complex did not fit Crescent Park's residential character.
