"A salt bread bakery is going to open in the East Village, according to EV Grieve. It comes from Okiboru House of Udon and is called Justin's Salt Bread at 58 Second Avenue, between East Third and Fourth streets. The bakery joins a handful of niche bakeries that go all in on just one treat. Gusi is opening in Greenwich Village from Boris Artemyev and Elena Melnikova at 432 Sixth Avenue, at West 10th Street."
Amazon-owned Whole Foods will open its first Ridgewood store at 55-60 Myrtle Avenue in a former Beaux-Arts bank with about 28,000 square feet on a 15-year lease. Justin's Salt Bread will open at 58 Second Avenue in the East Village, and Gusi will open at 432 Sixth Avenue in Greenwich Village with borscht variations, pierogies, a two-story dining room, a nostalgia-inspired cocktail bar, natural wines, weekday dinners, and all-day weekend service.
