In the series Daredevil: Born Again, Matt Murdock's relationship with Heather Glenn begins with promise but quickly loses momentum, showcasing a lack of character depth and chemistry. Initial charming moments fade into generic couple dynamics and bickering. The critique highlights how Matt, a charismatic character, interacts with more compelling individuals, emphasizing Heather's mediocrity. Comparisons are drawn to other characters, especially an unfeatured Jen, whose brief encounter with Matt conveys stronger chemistry than his evolving yet stagnant romance with Heather throughout the season. This underlines a disappointing narrative choice.
When I first started the show, I was tentatively interested in Heather Glenn, who meets Matt during a blind date... They had some cute moments in the first episode.
It's a shame, because Matt Murdock is so damn charming! He has easy banter with almost everyone. There are a lot of people in the show that he interacts with that have more sizzle and pop than Heather.
Alas, they are split apart by time... so their connection is probably not meant to be. Still, we can dream.
I feel betrayed by that first episode, wherein he literally sweeps Heather off her feet to pull her to safety... Where did that energy go?
