"Lawler said he arrived late at the Tune Inn, a bar popular with politicos in the capital, for a meal with a reporter, Reese Gorman of insider D.C. outlet NOTUS. According to Lawler and Gorman, Paul interjected himself in a conversation that the two were having at the bar. Paul introduced himself as the Republican senator's son, Gorman wrote, and confronted Lawler about Rep. Thomas Massie's (R-KY) GOP primary election in Kentucky next week."
"Paul, seated two seats down from the men, interrupted to tell Lawler that if Massie loses, it's going to be because of "your people." Massie's side has attacked his challenger for receiving campaign contributions from a Jewish hedge fund manager. "I asked him, who is my people?" Lawler told reporters. "And he yelled out, 'Jews.'" "Do you think I'm Jewish?" Lawler, a Catholic of Irish and Italian ancestry, asked. "I'm not.""
""'Oh, I'm sorry to accuse you of that,'" Lawler quoted Paul to reporters, "which is a remarkable statement in and of itself." "And at one point," the congressman continued, Paul "said that he hates Jews and hates gays and doesn't care if they die. And I think that's f**king disgusting." "I think it's fucking disgusting." @RepMikeLawler gives his take on being accosted at the Tune Inn by Sen. Rand Paul's son, who he said went on a ten minute antisemitic "diatribe" and gave him the middle finger"
Rep. Mike Lawler said William Paul, son of Sen. Rand Paul and grandson of Ron Paul, accosted him at a bar in Washington, D.C. Lawler reported that Paul interrupted a conversation and introduced himself as the senator’s son. Lawler said Paul confronted him about Rep. Thomas Massie’s upcoming GOP primary in Kentucky. Lawler stated Paul implied Massie would lose because of “your people,” which Lawler interpreted as a reference to Jews. Lawler also said Paul accused him of being Jewish, then made remarks Lawler described as hating Jews and hating gays and not caring if they die.
