Graham Platner, a Democratic candidate for Maine Senate and a fellow veteran, declined to apologize for resurfaced Reddit posts that mocked Purple Heart recipient Ted Daniels. The posts targeted a 2012 video showing Daniels engaging in a firefight with the Taliban, despite Daniels being shot four times. Daniels said he came out into the open to draw fire so his squad could reach safety. Daniels condemned Platner’s comments as vile and disgusting and said he has no respect for him. Daniels stated he does not want an apology and explained that he would only consider worrying about what someone says if he respected them. He also characterized the posts as beyond locker room talk.
"He called the posts made by Platner beyond locker room talk. The stuff that this guy put out there publicly is beyond locker room talk, Daniels said. It is just vile and disgusting. Watch above via Fox News."
