A Russian oil company, Fores, awarded 12 soldiers a total of $195,000 for shooting down an F-16 jet amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The ceremony took place at the Russia-Ukraine border, marking a significant military milestone. Fores launched a bounty system in 2023, aimed at incentivizing the destruction of Western military equipment. Despite recent losses, the F-16 has been deemed effective in Ukrainian operations, with General Cavoli noting its daily use and success in air defense and bombing missions.
Fores fulfilled its earlier promise and paid 15 million rubles to Russian servicemen for destroying the first F-16 fighter jet in the special operation zone.
General Cavoli indicated that F-16s were flying every day in Ukraine and were effective in defeating cruise missile threats and delivering bombing attacks.
