First direct peace talks: Will Putin come face-to-face with Zelenskyy?
Briefly

As anticipation builds for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, Moscow's stance remains unclear regarding President Putin's participation. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov indicated that an announcement about the representative would come when deemed appropriate by Putin. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has reiterated his willingness to meet in Turkey, expressing frustration over Russia's silence. Advisors stress that any discussions with lesser officials are futile, as only Putin holds the power to decide on the continuation or cessation of the conflict, highlighting the urgency of ending the war.

"Only Putin can make a decision to continue the war or stop the war," Podolyak said, emphasizing the necessity of direct talks with the Russian President.
