
"Sinthoro was reportedly expecting a child with his stepson's mother and didn't want the unborn baby exposed to secondhand smoke. In a briefing at the police headquarters, New York Police Department Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said, 'She didn't want the baby to be affected by the smoke. So mom first texts her son and tells him to stop smoking weed. That turns into a verbal dispute.'"
"[The teen] walks back to the bedroom, grabs a shoebox, [pulls a gun] and shoots [Sinthoro] two times, once in the chest, once in the arm."
"Police officers tracked him down to E 165th St and took him into custody. 'He had a backpack with all his belongings in it,' Kenny said. 'And he looks very disheveled, like he's been living out on the street since the incident.'"
A 16-year-old was arrested for the murder of his stepfather, rapper Sinthoro Upper, who was shot during a dispute over smoking weed. The incident occurred on April 12th in Brooklyn, New York. The teenager allegedly shot Upper after a verbal argument escalated. Sinthoro was concerned about exposing his unborn child to secondhand smoke. Police found the teenager in the Bronx nine days later, appearing disheveled and carrying a backpack with his belongings.
