DOGE abruptly cut a program for teens with disabilities. This student is 'devastated'
Briefly

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has terminated over 7,000 federal contracts, including the Charting My Path for Future Success program, which aimed to assist students with disabilities. Despite the program's potential to help 1,600 students across 13 districts, the Department of Education criticized its implementation as flawed and overly reliant on contractors. The abrupt cancellation has left families, particularly those of vulnerable students like Logan, disheartened and concerned about their future opportunities.
For just three weeks, beginning in January, some 1,600 high school juniors were enrolled in the program in 13 school districts across the country.
A U.S. Education Department spokesperson, Madi Biedermann, stated that Charting My Path was a research project 'with questionable implementation' and too much funding went to contractors.
