Granada Hills and Carson softball teams have an annual championship matchup that has been scheduled for a fourth consecutive season. The game is set for Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Legacy High in South Gate. Granada Hills won its semifinal 12-9 over San Pedro, with Elysse Diaz and Zoe Justman combining to go five for eight and drive in five runs. Justman hit a home run, and Gina Evangelista added an inside-the-park grand slam. San Pedro scored five runs in the seventh to create a late scare. Carson won its semifinal 12-2 over Birmingham, led by Anaiyah Popoalii’s home run, double, and three RBIs, Olivia Lomeli’s three-for-four performance with three RBIs, and Isabella Campos pitching a complete game.
