The recent mass shooting at Florida State University, carried out by 20-year-old Phoenix Ikner, has deeply affected students who were already traumatized by the 2018 Parkland shooting. FSU student Robbie Alhadeff, whose sister Alyssa was among the victims in Parkland, expressed fear and shock at facing such violence again. Several of his peers are also Parkland survivors, now grappling with the reality of ongoing gun violence in educational settings. Activists and bereaved parents like Fred Guttenberg emphasize the urgent need for reform to ensure the safety of students across the country, deeming the current situation unbearable.

America is broken. Many of her friends who were lucky enough to survive that shooting went on to attend FSU.
