Club Deluxe, a beloved bar and music venue in San Francisco, is reopening after being closed for almost two years. The bar faced a tumultuous closure due to landlord disputes, leaving many locals missing its vibrant presence. Former bartender Christian Beaulieu took the initiative to revive the venue, partnering with Jay Bordeleau, who aims to preserve the legacy of community and diverse music that Club Deluxe is known for. The reopening plans promise minimal changes to keep the bar's historical essence intact and continue its vibrant musical offerings.
"When your job is bartending in a fun and rowdy joint, with some of the best local bands playing 'in the round' night after night, you know you're in the right place."
"It can't be Club Deluxe without restoring its legacy of music and community. If you look at the 30 years that Deluxe booked bands, the styles and genres ranged widely. This approach will continue and expand."
