At 9:25 pm firefighters received a report of a two-alarm apartment fire on the 1500 block of Filbert Street in Cow Hollow. The San Francisco Fire Department arrived at 9:41 pm and observed heavy smoke from a third-floor unit where the fire originated. A person in the third-floor unit was found dead. Suspected hoarding conditions inside the unit and a cluster of exterior wires complicated entry and firefighting. Firefighters quickly aided other residents, rescued two dogs and two cats, and had the blaze under control by 10:21 pm. One person sustained minor injuries. SFFD's arson unit is investigating.
