Joey Lucchesi has re-signed with the Angels on a minor league contract after being designated for assignment. He cleared waivers and chose free agency before returning to the team. Lucchesi had a brief MLB stint, making three appearances with a 3.76 ERA in the previous season with the Giants. He struggled with walks, issuing five free passes in 2 1/3 innings. The Angels' bullpen includes other left-handed pitchers, and Lucchesi will be assigned to Triple-A Salt Lake.
