'Extremely patronizing': SF Giants' attempt to woo A's fans completely backfires
Briefly

In a recent series at Oracle Park, the San Francisco Giants aimed to make displaced Oakland baseball fans feel welcomed after the A's franchise relocated. However, many, including Bryan Johansen, co-founder of the Last Dive Bar, criticized these gestures as disingenuous. Statements from Giants officials touted their efforts to foster community, including thanking local supporters and recognizing Oakland's culture, yet skeptics questioned the sincerity due to ownership's prior vote to support the A's departure from Oakland. Despite the gestures, feelings of resentment linger among Oakland die-hards.
I just thought it wasn't needed. Anybody that's in the know knows that the Giants' ownership voted for this - they voted to relocate and get rid of the A's.
We want all fans to feel welcome and at home when they come to Oracle Park, and with our rivalry series against the A's, it was especially important our fans in the 510 knew they were welcome.
