Jonas Chatterton, with 27 seasons of coaching experience and a notable history of helping teams achieve NCAA tournament success, has been appointed as the first head coach of San Jose State's women's basketball program. Chatterton previously served as an associate head coach in various prestigious programs and boasts a strong career record of .679. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity and aims to build a respected team culture, succeeding April Phillips, who struggled to achieve a winning record at SJSU. With a focus on improvement, Chatterton's leadership comes at a critical time for the team.
We will build a culture that all Spartans will be proud of.
Chatterton's teams reached the NCAAs 13 times and won four conference championships.
This is his first head coaching job.
I've had the privilege of working alongside Jonas at Colorado and Oklahoma.
