Mercy Secondary School Mounthawk was packed Monday afternoon as the school welcomed back Transition Year student Aoibheann Daly after her win at the 2026 Stripe Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition. The win came on Friday evening. Aoibheann is 15 and from Causeway. She took home the top prize for GlioScope, a project designed to help doctors improve treatment of brain cancer. School staff and students pulled out all the stops to celebrate her achievement. She managed the whirlwind of recent days with composure, taking attention and accolades in stride.
