ISS spacewalk postponed over mystery astronaut malady
""medical concern""
""Safely conducting our missions is our highest priority, and we are actively evaluating all options, including the possibility of an earlier end to Crew-11's mission. These are the situations NASA and our partners train for and prepare to execute safely.""
NASA postponed a scheduled spacewalk outside the International Space Station due to an undisclosed "medical concern" involving a crew member. The issue arose yesterday and led to the delay; the affected crew member is in stable condition. NASA is evaluating options including a possible earlier end to the Crew-11 mission and emphasized mission safety and preparedness. Crew-11 consists of Mike Fincke, Zena Cardman, Kimiya Yui, and Oleg Platonov. Crew-12 is scheduled no earlier than February 15, 2026. Fincke and Cardman had been planned to perform a six-and-a-half-hour EVA to route cables, install jumper cables, photograph hardware, and collect microorganism samples.
