John Paul Mitchell Systems, a prominent hair care company, is relocating its headquarters from Santa Clarita, California, to Wilmer, Texas. This move is part of a larger trend of businesses exiting California. The new Texas site will include a global distribution center and generate 80 jobs while injecting $12 million into the local economy. Co-founder John Paul DeJoria expressed gratitude to Texas Governor Greg Abbott for the support. The company was also awarded a $640,000 grant to facilitate its move, aligning with other firms like Chevron and Realtor.com that have made similar relocations.
We're grateful to Governor Abbott and the State of Texas for their warm welcome and support and look forward to contributing to the entrepreneurial spirit and economic growth that make Texas such a special place to do business.
To help facilitate the move, the company has been given a $640,000 Texas Enterprise Fund grant. Overseen by the governor's office, the TEF grants are awarded to businesses that are relocating to or expanding in Texas, creating jobs and attracting investment.
