Batch 22 Bakery, known for its extra thick chocolate chip cookies, opens its first store in Los Gatos on May 15. Previously only available for pickup or delivery, this location enhances their availability to bake fresh cookies daily and offer delivery options. Co-founder Amy Wong started the business during the pandemic, motivated by her love for oversized cookies from New York. With a growing fan base, this new storefront signifies a significant development for the business as it transitions from cottage baking to a permanent establishment.
"Now that it looks immaculate, everybody is walking by the space, checks in, and is like, 'Can we buy cookies?'" says co-owner Lawrance Combs.
"I had that classic Asian American dream where you work a nine to five for the rest of your life," Wong says. "Doctor, lawyer, engineer, you know."
