Transforming San Jose: The Future of the Pleasant Hills Site
Briefly

The former Pleasant Hills Golf Course, now a 115-acre undeveloped site near Lake Cunningham in San Jose, presents a crucial opportunity to tackle the city's pressing housing crisis. Developer Lakeside Commons LLC proposes 1,716 residential units with community-focused designs, while nonprofit Catalyze Silicon Valley advocates for a bolder approach, seeking higher density and more housing units. Both plans prioritize community feedback and include green spaces; however, the contrasting visions reflect the ongoing debate over how best to utilize this valuable land to meet San Jose's housing demands.

San Jose could get a lot more housing out of the land on this project.
