
St. Killian athletes delivered strong performances at the Leinster track and field championships at the SETU campus in Carlow. Niall Sheil won silver in the Masters 1,500m with a time of 4:37 after working through the field and finishing strongly. Katrin Gruhl earned bronze in the Masters shot put with a personal best of 7.73m, with all four attempts surpassing her previous best. She added another bronze in the javelin with a throw of 19.70m. Cameron Sheil recorded a personal best of 13.55 in the triple jump and ran the Under-20 100m in 11.51 seconds. Brian O’Shaughnessy competed in local 5k races, including the Ballymurn 5k and the Stephen O’Leary Memorial 5k alongside Aoife Sheil and Niall Sheil, with Aoife showing rewarded training progress.

Brian, a dedicated club member, also lined out in the annual Stephen O'Leary Memorial 5k alongside Aoife Sheil and Niall Sheil. The determined Aoife has been putting in tremendous work in training, and it is encouraging to see her efforts being rewarded with strong performances on race day."
