This Classic Ski Mountain Has Night Skiing, a Superb Ski School, and Serious Local Charm-and a Direct Train From Denver
"Growing up in Colorado, I had always heard of Winter Park but never visited until my adult life,"
"When I first visited Winter Park, it was quite quaint and very authentic. I felt as if I had stepped into a place thats true passion and culture was the mountain and the outdoors."
"Learn-to-Ski Guarantee"
Winter Park Resort began welcoming skiers in 1940 and now spans more than 3,000 acres in the Fraser Valley, 67 miles west of Denver. The resort restored ski-train service with the Winter Park Express in 2017, allowing visitors to ride from Denver Union Station directly to the mountain base and avoid rental cars, highway traffic, and parking lots. Family-focused programs include a Learn-to-Ski Guarantee and complimentary lift tickets for children enrolled in lessons, while the resort also offers unique experiences such as night skiing by headlamp after lifts close. Terrain ranges from beginner learning areas to about 1,212 acres of off-piste glades and steep headwalls, and the high elevation supports consistent snowfall.
